Nassim Nicholas Taleb said something to the effect of (probably misquoted here), "The best teachers of wisdom are naturally the eldest, simply because they may have picked up invisible tricks that helped them survive in a world more complex than the one we can only try to understand." Old is gold, but being older is not necessarily perfect. A few billion years is vastly more proof of resilience than a thousand days and the oldest system around is clearly Mother Nature. What I mean to say is that I believe one should not fix what is not broken. There is very little that can replace old-fashioned practice and dedication. I will ensure that my students pay attention and fully understand the application of their knowledge.
