Miss Balqish has been teaching & tutoring since 2005. Recently, she obtained a professional teaching diploma from the University of Cambridge CIDTT, (Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers & Trainers).
After the completion of her Diploma in Business Computing from Republic Polytechnic, she went on to become a full-time private tutor. Thus, the years of tutoring led her to realise her potential & her niche as an educator.
Given that English is her forte, she enrolled for the Teacher Development Course (TDC) with British Council in 2009 & attained the “Tutor's Award†the following year. Thereafter, her teaching career has taken off
tremendously enabling her to work with various educational providers such as tuition and community centres conducting a range of English & creative writing classes for both primary & secondary students at present.
Recently, she has conducted a science enrichment workshop, at Rivervale Primary School for upper primary students during the September holidays. In August this year, she conducted a presentation skill workshops for secondary three students in Yuan Ching Secondary school.
At the same time, Miss Balqish is collaborating with SINDA and Loving Heart Multi-Service centre as well.
With SINDA, she is currently undertaking a primary six science class and preparing them up for their PSLE. While at Loving Hearts, she is actively involved in STAMP & STRIVE. She is running the tuition (for Maths & English) aspect of STAMP in Jurongville Secondary School, Yuhua Primary School and Jurong Primary School. She has previously worked with Shuqun Primary School in 2010, Jurong Secondary School earlier this year and Hong Kah Secondary for STAMP recently. At present, she is conducting STRIVE for Jurong Secondary School as well.
Miss Balqish has also conducted oral communication classes in Nanyang primary school earlier this year and was previously a Freelance report writer for a private investigation firm.
