I'm an ex-teacher at VJC who specialise in teaching Upper Secondary Chemistry. Watching my students improve is a great joy and I take pride in that. In my 10 years of tuition experience, I mentored countless students of varying capabilities. Each student is unique but many of them make similar mistakes. After these years, it's hard not to spot the pattern. So I developed a system to tackle these common mistakes effectively.
Instead of getting students to memorise terms and concepts that they don't understand, I describe them in a very visual manner. This way, they develop a mental image which is easy to remember and understand.
I'm especially attuned to the student's needs and can spot the gap in their understanding quickly. This allows me to quickly zoom in on the student's weakness and tackle it immediately.
