I am currently a 3rd year student from SMU, School of Information System and taking Finance as a second major. Last year, I taught 2 students; one from primary 4 and one from secondary 1. I was helping them as a study guide, so basically I taught them all the subjects apart from arts and Chinese. My primary 4 student was initially the second last in her class. Throughout the year, I did not only help her practice the old question papers and practice books, but also give her the moral encouragement to have her motivation and determination. She did improve her grades rapidly and became one of the top ten students in her class. My secondary 1 student had just came to Singapore after taking PSLE in his country when I started to teach him.He is an Express student with very smart Maths skills and hard working attitude. I guided him through very specific and detailed timetable to balanced the study time for all the subjects. Not to my surprise, he always came up the highest score in most of the subjects. It was really an amazing experience I had with this two kids by not only teaching them but also getting to know them. For me, whenever I thought about their improvement and achievement, it makes me feel that in one way or another, I made some impact for their education journey and may be for their lives as well.
