Many people asked me why am I giving tuition since I have graduated with an International Business degree. People think that giving tuition is merely a part-time job and an alternative way to earn some "good money". For me, I feel that giving tuition is a challenging job because of the commitment and effort you put into every student. Converting to full time enables me to dedicate 100% to every student, including sourcing and preparation of materials, keeping updated with the latest syllabus and ensuring proper planning of what to teach within that 1-2hours. But at the end of the day, when students learn something useful out of it/ change their studying habits/ finally able to crack a tough math sum, it's all worth it! :)
I have interest in English and Math subjects and love to cultivate interest in these subjects in my students. I teach primary English and Math because my PSLE results reflected my passion in these subjects (scored As for both), in comparison to other subjects. English and Math are 2 very important and invaluable subjects that are needed in higher education and even in the working world. Therefore, establishing a good foundation in both subjects is essential.
