Andros Ng
Being a scholar, I would say that I’m determined, highly motivated and maturely independent in thinking. Exposure helps, like global immersions in Harvard and LSE, not to mention plenty of reading, researching, thinking, discussing and appreciating, day in day out. // To me, holistic education is everything, because nothing is presumably larger than life. Learning is lifelong, and it encompasses all things — certainly not just the books. My GP tutor once brought my entire class out to sit around the piano on stage, for lesson, in the day. And as I grew up, it’s not hard to realise that lessons are everywhere — on the fields, under the trees… More crucially, it makes me understand just how important family education is, because I’m super glad that my parents have raised me to become the way I am albeit making those many sacrifices. // I believe in the power of human. The very potential that is in abundance — the harnessing of the power of emotions, and desires, so as to expand our limits such that we can outdo ourselves everyday. My gung-ho self lives life to the fullest each day, with the aim to become a well-rounded high achiever in all possible aspects. // Personally, I dislike rote learning despite having memory prowess. I prefer learning by the means of discovery, derivation, and intuition. The most undervalued thing about learning, is how many can’t see the values of its applications in life. // What I can do is to show the way, tell about how this is part of life, and stimulate the brain to challenge perceptions. I look forward to mould impressionable young minds via technical skills and critical thinking.

- Over my formal education years, I’ve been fortunate enough to always be in the creme de la creme — elite educational institutions, rubbing shoulders against some of the bests, to say the least. // Education is meant for preparation of life. Make no mistakes about it, excellent results open many doors. To keep it simple, I’ve obviously done very well to get where I am today; straight ‘A’s, overwhelming variety of CCA records, top-notch academic programmes etc. // I’ll be graduating with First Class, provisionally furthering in Masters and PhD, and am looking forward to join the academic track of research and lecturing.
- Proven Record
- In all my years, I have extensive experiences in helping my peers in school simply out of love and goodwill. I gradually found out that my passion for education is real. It is simply now my dream to teach in a world-class university as a professor. // My capacity and ability of over half a decade’s worth of tutoring, coupled with the grounding of relief teaching for a year, marks me out to be more than capable. With all things equal, I’ve only overseen betterments, if not the possible greats, under my watch. That’s enough said really.
