I have taught H2 and H1 Economics for the past three years as a full time tutor. After my graduation from NTU, specializing in Applied Economics, i have worked in the banking sector for a few years and hence i have relevant examples to illustrate to students too when explaining concepts.
My teaching style is to usually go through the content of the lecture notes with students first to ensure that they do not have any wrong concepts and i will go through one essay and one case study with my student to further reinforce the topic. After that, i will assign homework so that i can assess how my student answers without my guidance and will give suggestions on how to improve the answers and point out the weaknesses.
In addition, as each JC gives out different lecture notes, i will usually supplement my students with more notes if i find that my student does not particularly understand that topic and also i provide supplementary material about our Singapore economy(the policies we took, our strengths and any recent updates in our economic situations).
I am very passionate about Economics and i believe that this is a subject where students not only learn about the content but they learn how to think logically and apply their economic concepts to different real life situations.
