l aim to let my students become independent learners and thinkers after my training. l shall assist but not replace them in problem solving.
l am conscientious and highly self–motivated. Having a strong sense of curiosity, l am always very eager to learn. My keen thirst for learning and willingness to go in depth into the subjects have propelled me to take up the National University of Singapore Higher 3 Linear Algebra, an additional subject that exposed me to the more advanced topics in Mathematics. My passion for Mathematics has also allowed me to obtain the High Distinction Award in the annual Australian Mathematics Competition (2010), which places me in the top 4% of the whole cohort in the region. l wish to train my students just like the way my teachers have done.
My strong aptitude and interest in Science and Mathematics was recognized when my team clinched the Gold award in the Nanyang Research Programme (NRP) in 2011. Since 2010, l embarked on a year–long research project on “Scaling ground motions for dynamic analysis of base–isolated structure.†l undertook this research project under the guidance of a professor in Nanyang Technology University and conducted my experiments in the university diligently. This opportunity exposed me to an intellectually stimulating atmosphere. My research project was also a finalist at the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (2011).
